What does art mean to you? Imagine waking up one morning to your cube with all white walls. You get ready for your job where you look at disordered numbers all day. For lunch you have an indiscernible mass of protein, carbohydrates, and fats that will tide you over for the day. After work, you walk home, paying little mind to anything but the path in front of you. That night you stare at the wall in your living room to really top off the day. A world without art means creation is for logical purposes only—we cannot enjoy the human innovation around us, work is purely a trivial pursuit, everyone dresses the same, and Netflix doesn't exist. Now, who would want to live in the world without art?

What do you like most about being an SA at the McMullen Museum? I like the fact that students from so many different backgrounds and mindsets can collaborate to create a public good like running a museum. We are incredibly lucky to have a space on campus to look at art, have a stimulating conversation about it, and extend it as far as we like.

If you were a piece of art, what would you be? I would like to be a Klimt painting and bask in the golden light of Art Nouveau without a care in the world.
